I've been a chiropractor for over 15 years, with clinical expertise in chronic pain management, hypermobility disorders, and craniosacral therapy. My practice focuses on making hands-on care accessible and effective for patients in larger bodies.
Eight years ago, I made a significant shift from weight-focused to weight-neutral practice. This change came from my own personal journey - as I began questioning diet culture and learning to trust my body's signals around food, movement, and rest, I realized I could no longer ethically recommend weight loss to my patients.
I had to learn who I was as a provider all over again. This transition required developing new assessment techniques, treatment modifications, and communication strategies that I now teach to other providers.
My clinical background in chronic pain and trauma-informed care principles helped me understand that excellent healthcare happens when we treat the actual problem, not the size of the body.
I understand the unique challenges providers face when shifting away from weight-centered care because I lived it personally first. The uncertainty about what to say instead, the worry about providing adequate care without focusing on weight.
What I discovered is that weight-neutral care is better care. When I stopped trying to change my patients' bodies and started focusing on their comfort and function, my practice transformed.
I'm grateful you found your way here, and I look forward to supporting you on whatever path brought you to this work
